Al Jazeera Academy

Curriculum: International primary school, IGCSE for secondary school (IB diploma or Cambridge International Diplomas optional)

Al Jazeera Academy opened its doors to students in September 2002. It is a modern international educational institution which comprises three separate schools within a single campus to cater for all students from Preschool to Year 13. Our three schools are:
The Primary School (Preschool - Year 6) The Secondary Girls School (Years 7 - 13) The Secondary Boys School (Years 7 - 13).

In September 2005, AJA introduced the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The IBDP is a demanding two year, pre-university course of study which leads to examinations. It is for highly motivated, academic students aged 16 to 19. Levels are offered in addition to the IBDP for students only wanting a one year programme in Year 12.

AJA is a candidate school for the Primary Years Programme and the Middle Years Programme. Both the Primary and Secondary schools will have final authorisation visits in 2010. IGCSE Examinations are currently taken by students at the end of Year 11. Each school aims to provide an exciting, challenging and innovative learning environment for students of all nationalities.

AJA aims to develop each student's ability to think critically and laterally, to make considered judgments, solve problems and show initiative in undertaking tasks. This learning takes place in a friendly and caring school environment, in which each student feels safe and secure, and where they can strive to achieve personal excellence.
