Geography

If strictly defining the country by its geographical location and climate, Qatar is subtropical desert, but it also is a peninsula which means there are many places to seek respite from the blistering summer days. Another fact of life in a dessert are few rain storms but common place sandstorm which to the first time observer may seem like some odd type of foggy snowstorm on a hot day.

Yes the weather is hot and humid some summer days see temps upwards of 48°C/ 118°F but never fear because well maintained air-conditioning is a part of every aspect of everyday life in Qatar.

The great thing is that the winters are mild and pleasant a wonderful change from the ice and snowstorms of North America and Europe. Winter days are typically top out around 24°C/75°F . Though it rarely rains, sandstorms are a common occurrence
