Visas

Qatar began issuing tourist visas in 1989 allowing people from diverse backgrounds around the world to travel to Qatar whether on business or pleasure.  Applications for visas are normally issued through the Qatari embassy or consulate in the home country.  Before leaving your country of residence make sure you are fully aware of the visa requirements. 

Business visas must be based on a formal offer of employment or upon an invitation which explains the relationship to the applicant and the purpose of travel.  The letter should also indicate how long you will be in Qatar, where you will be staying and contact details.  Apart from this separate visas are issued for business purposes and tourism.
