Virtually all expatriates rent their properties in Qatar and many are on employment contracts that include free or heavily subsidized housing, furniture and utilities.  

Apartments and villas for rent in Qatar come furnished, semi-furnished and unfurnished, and with or without the air conditioners, so it’s essential that those arranging accommodation on their own check exactly what terms are included in the contract before signing.

Many villas in Doha are in compounds that have a number of facilities within, ranging from swimming pools, gyms, clubhouses and even kid’s play areas.  Only a few apartment buildings offer these amenities and they tend to be a little expensive.  There are also a few leasehold properties on the market open to expatriates, though most are currently under construction, this area of the market will likely grow as the population growth in Doha continues.
