The Supreme Education Council (SEC) oversees and develops the education policy in Qatar. It monitors the progress of education reform efforts, and governs the Education and Evaluation Institutes. The Supreme Education Council also approves the contracts for the independent schools and educational institutions in Qatar. Within the education reform are government-funded groups as well as private schools which are non-profit organizations sponsored by their individual embassy.
