Many communities have their own clubs, which hold various cultural functions all through the year. Canadian Warden System

The Canadian Embassy in Kuwait is responsible for the Canadians living and working in Qatar. However, without a permanent presence in Qatar the Embassy relies heavily on the warden system -- a network of volunteers to act as intermediaries that maintain communications with between the Canadian Embassy in Kuwait and the Canadian Community in Qatar. The Canadians residing in Qatar are requested to complete the Registration Form for Canadians Living Abroad (ROCA) which is available from the Chief Canadian Warden at chiefcanadianwarden@gmail.com.

Tuesday Ladies Group is a social group of expatriate ladies from various nationalities that meet up at the Ramada Hotel every 2 weeks on Tuesday mornings from 9:30am - 11:30am.

This organization is a place for new and old expatriates to meet new people, and to discuss and learn more about Doha. Speakers are invited to speak on various topics on Qatar. The group also organize outings and activities.

Members pay 70QR per year, plus 25QR for refreshments.  Non members pay 35QR per visit which also includes refreshments.   These costs cover their expenses, with surplus being used to support local recognized charities and charitable groups.
