Dear Sirs,

I had the honour to visit the State of Qatar at the end of March 2005 exactly when the Doha Cultural Festival was being organized. As a holder of an M.A degree in Arabic language and literature from the ELTE University of Budapest I have always felt the need to visit and explore the Gulf which is probably one of the most interesting regions of the whole Arab world. And so my first trip to the Gulf led me to Qatar.

I was truely fascinated by the fast pace of the country's development, the openness and friendliness of the Qatari people. All this made my one-week stay an unforgettable experience. I was deeply impressed by the variety of cultural programmes of the Festival and the eagerness of its organizers to acquaint foreigners with the rich traditions and long history of this beautiful land. Through my conversations with officials from the National Council for Culture, Arts and Heritage I could find out how much effort they make to improve the infrastructure of the country in order to make Qatar an ideal destination for tourists and the lovers of Arabic culture and traditions.

I decided to somehow promote Qatar here in Hungary with my own means (writing articles about it in magazines, newspapers) and hopefully I will be able to visit the pearl of the Gulf again in the near future.

I would like to express my highest esteem and appreciation along with my best wishes to H.H. The Amir, the Heir Apparent, to every member of the Royal Family and the friendly Qatari nation.

I would also like to congratulate the editors for this wonderful and extremely useful website.
