well for imate ..
the best thing to do is
1) Uninstall the Anitvirus software that comes preinstalled. Makes it go faster and use less memory.
2) Ensure you turn infrared off so it doesnt accept all incoming beams.
3) Reassign the Internet explorer button to the OK action. You can pretty much use the device without a stylus most of the time.
4) Install SPB Pocket plus as it give you a nice battery meter at the top of the screen and other cool features.
5) Buy an IMate Jam/XDA Mini screen protector and put it on the KJAM screen. It will reduce glare and stop the screen getting scratched.
i will try to get more in it..
as for Ericsson i am not a good fan of it
