My dad is just retired from a Government job, he has worked for more than 35 yrs in Ministry of Information as an Engineer. His RP is still valid, his son works in Ali bin Ali & daughter is doctor in HMC, both on their own respective sponsorships.

My issue is .... we want our Dad to stay here, as hez a Cardiac patient, has undergone couple of heart surgeries & is on regular follow ups from HMC. Can his son or daughter take him under their sponsorship being a 60+ person? or can we take the stay on medical grounds?? wht abt his dependents??

Any advices or suggestions on the above mentioned problem wud be highly appreciated. Please can any1 guide me?? wht is the procedure ??

i guess son can sponsor their parents...
just check with immigration department for more info...

Yes that is possible if you dad is above 65 or a senior resident ..
He can get transfered under the Son Sponser ship .. I do not know if the daughter can sponsor the father.
The son has to "be married" other wise the son cannot sponsor!!! I have a friend who has the same situation for her mother and the goverment doesnt allow until the son is married ! by the way he is working in hospital and a doctor too and that too in Cardiac surgery!!!


A father and mother can be sponsered but children under father sponsorship will be a problem.!

Procedure : You got to ask the immiration office or the immigration in HMC is very helpful. they can advice.* Noite: keep a detailed medcal report of your fathers heart condition in "ARABIC" It will be very helpful

I read somewhere that Qatari Govt. was going to allow sponsoring the parents .. but then read somewhere that they will not allow this as doing this will add extra burden on country's social services. Got know idea what's the current situation.
