THE Shafallah Centre for Children with Special Needs is holding
an autism awareness campaign from April 2 to 10, aimed at
creating better understanding of the disorder, especially its
early warning signs and the benefits of early intervention.
April 2 and 3, there will be a sport festival at the Qatar Sports
Club under the patronage of the Qatar National Olympic
committee, with 12 autistic children from each GCC country
taking part in various activities.
An art exhibition, to open at the Landmark Mall on April 3, will
showcase artwork by children with autism.
Diabetic Prevention camp for youth

QATAR Diabetes Association (QDA) in collaboration with Aspire
Academy for Sports Excellence will organise the second diabetes
prevention camp for the youth from April 2 to 8 at the Youth
Hostel Association, Aspire.
Among the camp participants are 25 obese adolescents with
first degree family history of diabetes and high body mass index
(BMI) values.
The objective of the camp is to introduce the youngsters to the
benefits of embracing a healthy lifestyle as a means of
preventing obesity and diabetes, which are both widespread in
the country.
The programme consists of providing a healthy reduced calorie
diet and an active exercise schedule to initiate weight loss,
including football, basketball, volleyball, walking and swimming.

Dunestock (in association with Doha Players) is an open air
Music Festival held annually at the singing dunes of Qatar,

rebuilding fund.
It's a family event providing the following facilities:- Large
stage, professional lighting/sound, food stalls, bouncy castles,

merchandise tent, organised parking and 24 hour security. The
stage faces a crescent shaped sand dune creating an
amphitheatre effect. Psychedelic lighting projected onto the
dunes after dark, and much much more. There's now a new
asphalt road that takes you all but 200m from the site, 2wd is
