Al Khor museum

Al Khor museum lies in Al Khor town about 57km north of Doha, the museum is a two-storey restored building along the Corniche. The ground floor contains an anthropological section, a section of marine and land life and a section depicting the traditional fishing, diving and shipbuilding for which Al Khor is long famous. The first floor exhibits recently discovered artefacts used in the ancient industries for making dyes from sea shells as well as geological maps showing the changes in Qatar over the last 120,000 years and excavation discoveries in the Al Khor area. The top floor offers good views of the bay and small harbor and entrance is free of charge.
