Rumba Dance Class Launch at Sheraton Doha
Rumba, “the dance of love”, originated in Cuba. Its influences include rural Cuban dances such as the Son, Cuban Bolero, Guaracha and the Dazon as well as moves introduced by the African in the early 1600s. The rumba continued to absorb cultural influences, giving rise to variations such as the American Rumba and the internationally recognized Cuban Rumba. The most obvious characteristic of the dance is its emphasis on body rather than foot movement this gives the Rumba its seductive, romantic quality. It has become one of the most popular Latin American dances in both competitive and social ballroom. There is much speculation about the origins of each stylized movement featured in the Rumba.
We are Starting the first Rumba dance class on Thursday 1st of April 2010 at Sheraton health club & recreation club, Time: 8:30 pm.
