Ahlan wa sahlan fi Qatar!
I hope I said that right. I’m new to Qatar, and very new to Arabic.
Oh! My apologies! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is David and I’m the new editor/copywriter of the explore qatar Web Portal. I arrived in Doha on the 11th of November… Remembrance Day… I’ll never forget that day. But it seems that I will wear out that poor joke.
My wife (Canadian) and I (Australian) came to Qatar from Canada to answer the siren song that so many expatriates seem to have followed: Lucrative employment opportunities. So here I am, taking up the challenging position of keeping this awesome site up-to-date, a job, which, though daunting, I am eager to do justice, since explore qatar has already been a great source of information for me, and helped me learn a lot about the country and its people.
It’s my job to proof the portal, ensure that content is current, and provide all those interested in Qatar, whether you’re just curious, or are coming here to live, with articles and useful information that will assist and enrich your stay in this exciting country.
